Hailing from South Korea, the now infamous sunglasses brand, Gentle Monster, has now finally opened their first boutique in Los Angeles. As it was the first weekend of my Thanksgiving break, I decided to go check it out myself.

(Located on Broadway & 8th in DTLA)

Two years ago, I had actually went to the Gentle Monster flagship store in Seoul. I remember the interior being eccentric and very out-of-the-ordinary for a sunglasses store. After visiting its boutique in LA, the brand has still stayed true to its vivacious decor.

Upon entering the store, I was greeted with these large, kind of furry-looking objects.

They moved too !

As for the inside of the store, there were even more interesting objects surrounding the floor.

Like I said earlier, I had already been to Gentle Monster’s flagship in Seoul, but I was hesitant to buy a pair of sunglasses at the time. So, this time I was determined get some new sunnies!

What I really like about Gentle Monster is that they make the arch of the nose pad adaptable for people with shorter nose slopes. As it is a Korean brand, they made the sunglasses this way because many Asian people have short nose slopes, therefore it is sometimes a challenge to keep sunglasses on.

Gentle Monster has a wide variety of sunglasses ranging from more practical ones to more aberrant sunglasses.

Finally, I settled on their Last Bow sunglasses in blue.

I decided to pick the Last Bows because I felt that they worked as a transitional accessory, but also had sort of a more different look that could be worn when going out.

I was very impressed with Gentle Mosner; both the boutique and their sunglasses!

I was especially happy that these glasses were actually not falling off of my face. :,) Overall, it was a great experience, hopefully I’ll be able to buy more shades from them soon, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for some fun, but practical sunglasses !

Well, that’s all for now. Remember to stay stylish and not be too shady ;)
